They are exploring new tele-surgery solutions with the application of 4RemoteHealth.
Zerintia HealthTech’s technology has been put to the test by the HM Sanchinarro University Hospital. The General Surgery and Urology departments at the Madrid-based hospital have had the opportunity to evaluate and explore new tele-surgery communication solutions using the 4RemoteHealth platform. Zerintia HealthTech’s collaborative tool has enabled the combination of surgery with real-time 3D visualization of pathology by integrating Cella Medical Solutions’ 3D planning tool and the Da Vinci robotic system. This development allows surgeons to better understand pathologies and perform more precise procedures, directly benefiting patients.
The General Surgery department at HM Sanchinarro, led by Dr. Emilio Vicente, and the Urology team, headed by Dr. Javier Romero, performed surgical procedures on November 12, 13, and 14 using the platform developed by Zerintia HealthTech. This platform facilitates real-time communication and interaction among healthcare professionals, enabling external expert consultation, medical training, and remote technical assistance.
General Surgery: Robotic Distal Pancreatectomy and Splenectomy
Dr. Emilio Vicente and his team performed a robotic distal pancreatectomy and splenectomy assisted by the Da Vinci robot. The procedure was broadcast live with outstanding image quality, allowing specialists from various locations in Spain and Italy to connect and clearly follow every phase of the surgery remotely.
More than 30 guests participated in this event, remotely observing the procedure with complete clarity. During the session, Zerintia HealthTech’s platform integrated the Da Vinci robotic system with Cell Medical Solutions’ 3D planning tool, highlighting the ease of use and adaptability of this technology to daily clinical practice. Professionals praised the high resolution of the images and the seamless connectivity, opening up new opportunities for continuous training and collaboration between hospitals and universities.
Urology: Prostate Reduction with Robotic Technology
The Urology team, led by Dr. Javier Romero-Otero, performed a prostate reduction procedure to relieve urethral compression. This procedure required precision and was made possible through the advanced technology provided by Zerintia HealthTech. The demonstration validated the platform’s capability to support complex urological interventions, enabling supervision and remote assistance.
